IPS is pleased to celebrate ten years in business as a payroll services provider for businesses and organizations throughout southeast Wisconsin and across the country.
The late Larry Feaman, started the family-owned IPS, along with his children John, Pete, and Leslie.
“We grew up and always talked about owning a business together,” recalls Pete, vice president and CPA. “Both John and I worked in public accounting firms. We had a good foundation to build on with our dad’s payroll industry experience.”
Headquartered in Delafield, IPS’ eight-member team now serves more than 500 small to mid-sized businesses across a diverse field of industries. Their deep payroll and accounting expertise, comprehensive iSolved technology systems, and commitment to excellent customer service has helped to differentiate them from the competition with respect to:

In the past several months of the Covid-19 pandemic, IPS has helped customers navigate the challenging business environment providing regular guidance on the Payroll Protection Program (PPP), Covid-19 sick leave pay, and a host of other federal changes that impact their customers.
“Like many of our customers, we’re also a growing business, so we can relate to the challenges they face,” says John, president and CPA. “So, our being present and relatable helps us help them tremendously.”
Pete adds, “We’re not just a vendor or a necessity. We are a reliable resource. We dive in and learn about our clients’ businesses and needs, so we can deliver the optimal product and service offering to better position them for continued success.”
In addition to John and Pete, IPS employs a well-rounded team that helps make their customers feel cared for and valued. Camille Pierce is the company’s payroll manager, while Ashlie Bruce, Sara Kempf, Ruxy McPherson and Mary Anderson serve as payroll specialists, and Alyssa Jones-Plutte recently joined as the IPS office administrator. And though former Vice President Leslie (Feaman) Kiefer departed in 2017 to concentrate on raising her family of four, she still keeps close tabs on the company she helped found.
As IPS marks ten years in business, what’s some of the best advice their leadership can share?
“When you launch a business, have someone in your network that you can lean on and has experience,” says Pete. “We were relatively young when we started IPS, and for us, that person was our father. He always seemed to have his internal compass set to the best route forward.”
And what do the next 10 years have in store for IPS?
“There’s a lot of technology out there to help streamline and transform payroll, and I see that really taking off in the coming years,” says John. “At the onset of the pandemic, we were ready to handle our customers remotely, uploading into the cloud space for access to keep their businesses running. I think we’ll see more companies realizing the effectiveness of digital payroll where fewer manual tasks are required each month, and there’s an increased ability to retain the best employees.”
