You onboarded with IPS in July. Tell us what the first few months have been like.
“In the short amount of time I’ve been here, I can say I really enjoy collaborating with this team. Everyone works so well together to make our customers a priority. The emphasis on training really attracted me to IPS. I love to dig into things and figure them out, whether it is learning something new or troubleshooting a problem.”
And much of that comes from your background in payroll?
“Yes, I have more than seven years of experience in the payroll service bureau industry. I’ve also been the client, so I understand exactly where our customers are coming from, and understand the pressure of getting payrolls processed under a deadline. It helped greatly to be able pick up the phone and talk through a calculation or how to run a report with specific information. My education includes associate degrees in Sales/Marketing from Madison Business College and in Human Resources from Waukesha County Technical College (WCTC).
How would you describe your best work day?
“First, I would treat myself to a good cup of coffee, know the answers to everything, get all of my work done in one day and then sit back and wait for more questions. What fun would that be?”
So, when you’re not managing clients, assessing their payroll needs and delivering the best in customer service, what do you like to do outside of work?
“I enjoy visiting the infinite number of craft beer breweries throughout Milwaukee. I’m a fan of the TV show “Survivor.” The concept of dropping strangers off on an island to fend for themselves and build relationships fascinates me.
“I grew up in a large family on a farm in beautiful Prairie du Chien among the bluffs and rivers in southwest Wisconsin. My husband, Jon and I live in Genesee with two entertaining rescue dogs named Finn and Lainey, and we love the rewards of gardening. We share the abundance of produce with our friends and neighbors, which also allows us to spend time more outdoors. We also enjoy spending summer weekends on the pontoon during the day and around a nice campfire at night our place on Lake Redstone in La Valle, just west of Wisconsin Dells.
